About me
I am Iris Graham-Kagore. My students like to call me Ms. K. As an accomplished teacher certified by The National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS), I am an experienced Exceptional Needs Specialist. In part, due to the shortage of special education teachers within the educational system, it has prompted me to examine my status by taking more proactive measures and provide greater assistance to students with diverse needs. I’ve listened attentively to parents, understanding their frustrations and worries, as they are determined not to see their children lag academically. I truly believe parents are genuinely concerned about their child’s potential and future as contributing members of society. Through tutorial services, I resolve to offer a proactive solution to the educational predicament.Embracing a highly personalized pedagogical approach, tutoring sessions are customized to align with the unique learning preferences of each student. Using this meticulous approach better ensures that each student acquires self-assurance, attains a profound comprehension of the subject matter while retaining skills. It is my conviction that possessing a disability does not relegate one to a state of inferiority but rather confers a distinct UNIQUENESS. Qualifications: -North Carolina Teacher's License-Distinguished As Highly Qualified in Special Education General Curriculum K-12-20+ Years Teaching Experience State of North Carolina -National Board-Certified Teacher (NBPTS)-Exceptional Needs Specialist Early Childhood Through Young Adulthood-Currently in a Masters Program at Western Carolina University Special Education Mild to Moderate Disabilities
